Nick Hardy

Tenor

Nick Hardy trained at the Royal Academy of Music, and privately with singers and coaches of international reputation, including Joan Carlyle, Jeffrey Lawton and Brian Hughes. He has appeared with Scottish Opera, Buxton Festival Opera, Civit Hills Opera, Wexford Festival and English National Opera, in minor roles, major cover roles, chorus and extra chorus. For local companies throughout the UK he has sung more than 30 major operatic roles including Rodolfo (La Bohème), Radames (Aïda), Manrico (Il Trovatore), Don José (Carmen), Ricardo (A masked ball), Turridu (Cavalleria rusticana), Tonio (The Daughter of the Regiment), Nemorino (L'Elisir d'Amore) and Cavaradossi (Tosca). In oratorio he has performed widely, in Verdi's Requiem, Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius, Tippett's A Child of our time, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Rossini's Stabat mater and Petite Messe Solennelle, Mozart's Requiem and Coronation Mass, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Nelson Mass and many others. He lives in Liverpool and is appearing there in a brand new musical which celebrates the city's year as European Capital of Culture. He has been visiting singing teacher at Shrewsbury School and The Hammond theatre school, Chester, and is currently principal singing tutor at both Liverpool College and Birkenhead School.
